"...that which is noted..."

  • or "written down" (4BC 862)

"...in the scripture of truth..."

  • The eternal plans and purpose of God are here represented as written down. (Psalms 139:16; Acts 17:26; Daniel 4:17) (4BC 862)

"...there is none that holdeth with me..."

  • This phrase does not mean that only Christ and Gabriel understood what was going on, "The controversy was one in which all heaven was interested" (PK 571). But that Christ and Gabriel had assumed the special work of contending with the hosts of Satan in there attempt to secure control of the empires of this earth. (4BC 862)

"...but Michael your prince."

  • The fact that Michael is spoken of specifically as "your prince," places Him in sharp contrast with the "prince of Persia" (Daniel 10:13 and Daniel 10:20) and "the prince of Grecia" (Daniel 10:20). (4BC 862)
  • My note: Daniel does not place his trust in the rulers of this earth, but in the one who allows men to rule on the earth, the ruler of both heaven and earth, Jesus Christ the Son of God.
